UB offers merit-based academic scholarships for undergraduate, graduate, and transfer students.
Types of AidAll students
- FAFSA - Students should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after December 1 as possible, but before February 1 to ensure access to all aid programs. Our Federal School Code is 001416.
- All returning students can access their award letters online by going to Web Advisor.
- New way to manage your refunds directly on your myUB portal.
- Graduating or withdrawing: do not forget to do your exit counseling

The Office of Student Financial Services at University of Bridgeport is committed to helping you navigate and understand the financial aid process. We participate in a variety of federal, state, and institutional programs including grants, loans, and scholarships. Our Student Financial Services Counselors are ready to assist you with any questions you may have.
Admitted and continuing students
Submit a FAFSA as early as October 1 every year at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
2024-2025 FAFSA release
The 2024-2025 FAFSA is available now! Visit studentaid.gov to complete it.
April 2024 update:
- We are receiving FAFSA information for the 2024-25 academic year from students who have completed it already.
- Students can now submit corrections to their FAFSA if needed.
- Financial aid packages are being processed as quickly as possible.

2024-2025 FAFSA changes:
The FAFSA Simplification Act was enacted by Congress as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. This law reduces the number of questions students will have to answer on the FAFSA form, makes crucial changes to the Higher Education Act of 1965 to expand Pell Grant eligibility and removes outdated restrictions to make federal student aid more accessible to all students.

Accepting financial aid (registered students only)
Use your UB Portal for billing and financial aid
Once you are registered for classes, you can sign into your UB Portal to:
Accept or decline your financial aid
- Click on the self-service icon, click on Financial Aid, then click on My Awards to accept/decline your financial aid.
Handle all billing and payment related needs by logging into your UB Portal and clicking on “Billing and Payments.”
- Make payments
- Enroll in interest-free payment plans
- Sign up for direct deposit for refunds under “Electronic Refunds” tab
- Provide third party access (for parent or responsible adult) under “Authorized Users” tab
